MPU is a Colombian-born interdiciplinary visual artist now based in London. Her practice primarily consists of fashion productions where she functions as creative and art director. With a background in fine arts, MPU is also frequently involved with the design and creation of elements like props and sets, including the artistic interventions of fashion garments frequently featured in her work. This portfolio, created over the span of nearly a year, is a direct exploration of the bases of MPU as a creative director. Touching on themes of transgression, grotesque humour and challenging perceptions of beauty, MPU aims to depict a series of abject characters in surreal performances. All of this in the hopes that these portrayals will connect with disquieted minds.
